A September 2026 overview in Daily Commercial News tracks how 3D concrete printing is growing in height and scale. In Bezannes, France, the ViliaSprint² building, with 12 social housing units on three storeys, was printed in 34 active printing days. In Bruay-sur-l'Escaut, a three-storey, 14-metre building printed in ten days is described as the tallest occupied printed structure so far.
Scale is growing too. In El Paso, Texas, the walls of ten barracks buildings for 560 soldiers were printed in 58 days, and the Australian company Luyten is developing a printer mounted on a tower crane, designed to reach heights of around 100 metres.
Why it matters to us: the technology behind large buildings and the technology behind our planters and desks is the same, robotic extrusion of concrete layer by layer. Every step forward in materials and machines makes smaller architectural objects more precise and more reliable too.
